Majilis okayed amendments on land relations
At the plenary session Majilis approved in the second reading the bill amending land relations, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
The amendments introduce the procedure for agricultural land alienation in the event that foreign nationals and legal entities, joint ventures with a share of foreign participation, are members of a legal entity, as well as upon termination of the citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan by a participant in a legal entity.
All Majilis committees presented positive opinions on this bill.
The amendments provide for a complete ban on the provision of agricultural land to foreign nationals and foreign companies, Kazakh companies with foreign participation, stateless persons, scientific centers with foreign participation, as well as kandas.
The terms of previously leased agricultural land by foreign nationals and Kazakhstan companies with foreign participation cannot be extended. Kandas can get a land plot for personal subsidiary farming, gardening and summer cottage construction only after obtaining Kazakhstan citizenship.
