Gov’t examined entrepreneurship development
Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting of the Project Office on entrepreneurship, Kazpravda.kz refers to the RK PM’s press service reporting.
The meeting examined the interim results of the concessional lending program "Economy of Simple Things", issues of local content in public procurement, procurement of NWF Samruk-Kazyna JSC and subsoil users, as well as the survey results of business entities in the most affected industries and the outlook for their development.
The meeting was attended by members of the Government, regional governors, management of NWF Samruk-Kazyna JSC, NPP Atameken, NMH Baiterek JSC, Damu Fund, Agrarian Credit Corporation, the Association of Kazakhstan Financiers, representatives of regional chambers of entrepreneurs, etc.
As of August 1, 2020, 2,201 projects worth 504.2 billion tenge were approved under the Economy of Simple Things concessional lending program, 1,628 projects were subsidized for 292.5 billion tenge. The cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, as well as Zhambyl and Kostanay regions became the leaders in subsidized projects; low dynamics is observed in Pavlodar, Kyzylorda and Atyrau regions.
For efficiency of funds disbursement under the Economy of Simple Things program, the PM ordered to enhance the work of regional project offices to support projects and provide the necessary support to entrepreneurs, as well as eliminate emerging barriers.
The Samruk-Kazyna Fund was tasked to continue the work on concluding off-take contracts with domestic producers, including within the framework of the targeted support mechanism that is being developed.
Based on the results of survey of business entities in the most affected sectors of the economy, conducted by Atameken NPP, the Head of the Government instructed to prepare proposals for further support of this category of entrepreneurs within two weeks.
