Doctors’ and teachers’ wages rise envisioned in 2021-2023 budget

At the plenary session Majilis approved the draft republican budget for 2021-2023, correspondent reports.

As the Finance Minister, Yerulan Zhamaubayev noted, presenting the bill, due to optimization of funds for certain budget programs in the amount of KZT 13.7 bn, expenditures were increased on water supply and sanitation in rural districts, as well as on the development of gas supply.

"Due to a decrease in the reserve for urgent expenses by KZT 25.5 bn, the costs were increased on construction and overhaul of feldsher-obstetric stations, outpatient clinics, medical centers in rural settlements, cost of armed forces’ rations, as well as the Employment roadmap - 2020-2021," he said.

According to the document, the share of social expenditures to total expenditures in 2021 stands at 50.4%. A large amount of spending falls on social security and social assistance. Expenditures on the healthcare system in 2021-2023 stand at KZT 5.1 trillion, of which KZT 1.6 trillion for 2021.

Within the framework of these funds, expenses are provided for raising the wages of medical workers.

KZT 5.2 trillion is provided for development of the education and science system for 3 years, of which for 2021 - KZT1.3 trillion with an increase of KZT 458 billion.

To raise the salaries of teachers, including new additional payments, KZT 3.5 trillion is provided, of which KZT 728 bn for 2021.

Expenditures for support and development of the real sector of the economy in the medium term amount to KZT 3.2 trillion, of which KZT1.7 trillion for 2021.

At the same time, the financial support for the state programs Nurly Zhol, Nurly Zher, development of the agro-industrial complex, etc. remains a priority direction of the budget.
