In Kazakhstan, prevention of bird flu and other infectious animal diseases is closely monitored, Kazpravda.kz refers to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
According to statistics, there are about 43.6 million poultry heads in the country, of which about 11.8 million are kept in private farmsteads. The rest of the livestock is in closed poultry farms, where the contact of birds with the external environment is limited.
“The Committee of Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture conducts monitoring control in order to prevent the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The veterinary service is also closely monitoring the epizootic situation in neighboring states. In the emergence of animal disease foci, it promptly takes measures, "the message says.
It is noted that at present, Kazakhstan has a favorable epizootic situation on 45 types of animal diseases, and on another 23 special veterinary preventive measures are taken to diagnose and vaccinate.
"In particular, it is planned to carry out more than 151 million procedures for the vaccination of animals and birds, as well as over 68 million diagnostic tests," the ministry added.
