Kazakhstan sent the first air express to the United Arab Emirates with 22 tons of meat onboard. This was announced by the Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov on his Facebook page, Kazpravda.kz reports.
“Today we sent the first air express to the United Arab Emirates. 22 tons of chilled meat (12 tons of lamb and 10 tons of beef) went to Abu Dhabi. Thanks to the initiatives and support of the UAE Embassy, we were able to use the aircraft that brought humanitarian aid from the Arab country yesterday to fight coronavirus," wrote Sultanov.
According to him, Kazakhstani meat will be sold in large retail chains of the country.
“Emirates like our products for their environmental friendliness and taste. In the conditions of the global quarantine, we were able to find exporters with finished products in an extremely short time and collected a volume of 22 tons," the minister added.
He also noted that with the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstani air carriers, the possibility of using civil aircraft for cargo-exchange of products with the United Arab Emirates is being studied. This will help maintain export supplies, and Abu Dhabi will provide the domestic market with quality food.
“We are also preparing proposals for deliveries of other non-primary products to the UAE. We are also exploring other areas. We need to use the moment and conquer markets using all the opportunities. I want to address the existing and potential exporters - send your offers to MTI on development of new sales markets. At the same time, goods must withstand price and other competition, taking into account this method of delivery. I recall that MTI has resources (about 8 billion tenge) for the state support of export. We can help reduce the costs of entrepreneurs. I invite you for cooperation", - Sultanov concluded.
