New Abai TV channel appeared in Kazakhstan

Television and Radio Corporation "Kazakhstan" held a presentation of a new cultural and educational television channel Abai tv, reports with reference to the Broadcasting Company.

“In the year of the 175th anniversary of the great poet Abay Kunanbaev, a republican television channel named after him is launched to promote and popularize the achievements of Kazakhstan’s culture. All this happens in a very difficult time for our country and the whole world. Culture at all times fulfilled the most important mission, it gave strength and hope to the people in the most difficult moments of history. I’m sure that the Abai TV channel will win a high-quality and dedicated audience, becoming one of the recognizable brands in our country,” said Dauren Abayev, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.

The new channel was launched at the instruction of the Head of State. It is intended to introduce and familiarize Kazakhstanis with the heritage of the great Abay and the achievements of the culture and art of Kazakhstan and the whole world. Special thematic programs will be presented to the channel’s viewers. Also it will be possible to watch performances and ballet performances in the program "Premieres", a discussion of the masterpieces of Kazakh art in the programs "Music of the Great Steppe", "Urker", "Zhyr Maidany".

The channel broadcasts 17 hours a day (from 07:00 to 00:00) on the basis of Otau TV satellite communications, through Alma TV and ID TV cable networks in Kazakh and Russian. Online broadcasting is available on the official website
