The results of the 3rd season of the International Mobile Film Festival have been announced - short films shot on a smartphone, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the Mobile Blockbuster film festival (MBff).
Mobile blockbuster film festival (MBff) took place in Kazakhstan for the third time. The event shows stable growth from year to year. So, if in the first season the Festival was only local, the works were sent by participants from Kazakhstan, then in 2021 16 countries of the world competed for the title of the best mobile video maker.
The competition received 58 works from 16 countries of the world: Kazakhstan, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Great Britain, USA, Brazil, Russia, Bulgaria, Dominican Republic, Iran, Italy, France, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan and Chile. By the way, the North American continent participated for the first time.
So, in the nomination "Best Film" (short film up to 12 minutes), a creative group from Bishkek won with the film Present for Future.
Gaziza Uzak's video work won the Best Vertical Video nomination (up to 1 minute).
The best actor was Jonay García from Spain, and the best actress was Irina Levadneva from Almaty.
The Bakhtigareyev family, represented by Ruslan, Maria, Ailin and Marcel, took the statuette in the People's Choice nomination (Audience Choice Award). Their work "Freedom" was highly appreciated by viewers and received the most "likes" on the official YouTube channel of the A! Baika Festival.
In addition, the organizers of MBff noted Sergey Litovchenko, a Kazakh scriptwriter, who sent 17 (!) Works to the competition.
The theme of this year's films is “Spirit of Freedom”. The works of the participants were evaluated by a competent jury consisting of professionals from the film industry, producing, directing, etc.
The jury included:
- Alisher Utev - chairman of the jury, film director, screenwriter, producer (films "Business in Kazakh", "Brat or Brak 1, 2", "Serzhan Bratan", etc.) - Kazakhstan;
- Dmitry Kirienko - commercial director of the Chaplin Cinemas network - Kazakhstan;
- Almira Tursyn - actress - Kazakhstan;
- Maxim Borisov - co-founder of the YOLO-house - Kazakhstan;
- Gulbahor Khasanova - producer, founder of the Kazakhstan Media Academy - Kazakhstan;
- Artur Mikheev - director - Russia;
- Mohammadreza Keshavarts - Director, Screenwriter, Editor, VFX Consultant - Iran.
The festival ended with a film screening of the winners' works, where they received the awards and cash prizes. A few hours earlier, the organizers of the project were awarded the prestigious National Prize in Public Relations "Ak Mergen" in the category "Marketing Communications".
