It involved about 3000 artists, actors, singers, musicians, dancers, stuntmen, and even military orchestra.
The show was attended by distinguished guests: President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Almazbek Atambayev, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ismet Yilmaz.
The 90-minute performance, divided into seven thematic parts, featured a 3000- year history of the Great Steppe - from the Bronze Age to the present, with innovative technologies and special effects applied.
Throughout the show on the big screen in the form of a book turning pages ( 21 to 18 meters in size), the explaining sketches ran - quotes of the great figures of the past, and then the real footage chronicles.
Part I - "In the flow of history" presented a choreographic composition to ancient tunes and Kazakh folk songs "Tugan jer", in which the language of dance showed the harmony of man and nature.
Part II "Uly Dala Eli" consisted of 3 episodes. The culmination of the first of them - about the Kazakhs ancestors Sakas, Huns and Sarmatians was the emergence of a chariot "Altyn Adam", a symbol of Kazakhstan's independence.
The second episode covered the era of Turkic khanate, showing the graphic symbols of war chief Kyultegin.
In the third episode - "Silk Road. The thinkers of the steppes" – a stylized caravan appeared against the backdrop of ancient cities Sarayshyk, Syganak, Turkestan, Taraz, symbolizing cultural and scientific exchange between civilizations.
Formation of the Kazakh Khanate was shown in Part III of the same name.
Chapter IV "Steppe renaissance" told of the outstanding Kazakh figures of art, culture and science of the nineteenth century: Suyunbay, Abay, Kurmangazy, Shokan Valikhanov.
Song of Abay "Zhelsyz Tunde Jaryk ah", the famous kui by Kurmangazy "Saryarka" were performed – the latter one by symbolic number of dombra players - 550 (!).
Part V "XX Century"- the longest part, recounted great trials and tribulations, and the period of transition to a new life of Kazakhstanis, industrial and technological progress, achievements and finally independence in the end of the century.
Tragic time was chronicled on the screen in this part: civil war after 1917 events, subsequent famine and repression of the 30s to the touching song "Otan Ana" by Batyrkhan Shukenov, sung by children's choir.
The Second World War time was shown to the song sung by Rosa Rymbaeva "Alia" (about the war hero Alia Moldagulova).
The following compositions were called "Bread of Kazakhstan" (development of virgin lands), "Baikonur cosmodrome "and" Closing the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. "
Part VI - "Independence" – showed videos of milestones that were formerly made in Almaty, Astana and regions, and the symbol of the new capital of Kazakhstan Baiterek.
Part VII - Mangilik yel told of the role of the forthcoming EXPO-2017 and Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy.
The show was crowned by the emergence of Triumph Arc with soaring eagle around it as a symbol of a bright future, and the National Anthem, sung by all the performance actors.
