Akan Satayev appointed Kazakhfilm president

By the order of the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akan Satayev was appointed president of Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm JSC, Kazpravda.kz cites the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports informing.
Arman Asenov previously held this position.
Akan Satayev was born in 1971 in Karaganda, graduated from the the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts in Almaty, film and television department.
In 2003, he founded Sataifilm studio, and in 2007 he shot his first feature film, Racketeer. He produced and directed the mystical thriller "Lost" (2009), the serial "Brothers" (2009), the psychological drama "Liquidator" (2011), the historical film "A Thousand Brave Children" (2012). He is also the director of the crime drama "District" and the historical drama "The Road to Motherhood" (2016), "Businessmen" (2018), "Tomiris" (2019) and others.
In 2014, he was awarded the National Prize "People's Favorite".
In 2016, Akan Satayev founded the Astana Cinema Fund Foundation, whose goal is to support young directors.
