In President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s State-of-the-Nation Address completion of the construction of Kazakh section of the international motorway Western Europe - Western China is named among the economy priorities. The reconstruction of the transcontinental corridor has become a mega-project of our country’s transport industry. Almaty bridge structures plant is an active performer of this project.

- The President called this construction truly national, - said director of this business Akhmetzhan Shardinov, who says that never before 2700 kilometers of good-quality motorways had been built in three years! And the President set the task to finalize this construction work in the next year.

In the past year under this mega auto project the plant had supplied the produce to the road builders the sum of over KZT 3 billion, this year this figure will double. The huge investment in construction of this mega motorway points to the strategic importance to Kazakhstan’s transport potential of the autobahn Western Europe - Western China. It was estimated that the transcontinental corridor will almost 3.5 times reduce the motorway freight haulage time from China to Europe compared to goods carriage by sea. To hold such powerful freight traffic the Western Europe - Western China motorway should conform to international technical standards. That’s what the plant does for it.

- The President said the industrial development gives new opportunities to the country - the director went on. – So, fulfilling the state program for accelerated industrial-innovative development, we launch innovations in production.

One of them is development of 42-meter long post-tensioned bridge girders, already tested and used in the construction of bridges and overpasses on this transport corridor. In CIS it is the only produce of this kind, of a high quality and many times cheapening the construction of bridges and overpasses that withstand an A14 load - 180 kilotons, i.e. 1st category roads. Thus Kazakhstan has transferred to the international A14 standards.

The plant also contributes to development of tourism cluster in the country, and its subsidiary "AZMK-Zharkent" took up the construction of a hotel complex - campings, hotels, shopping malls and recreation facilities. All this takes hands, hence new jobs, which also attunes with the state program of employment.
