Assemblies’ friendship is getting stronger

A delegation of Kazakhstan People’s Assembly headed by its deputy chairman and head of the KPA secretariat of the Presidential Administration Eraly Tugzhanov paid a visit to the Republic of Chechnya of the Russian Federation.

The visit was at the invitation of the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. On the delegation was the president of the International Fund “Congress of Spiritual Accord” Senator Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov, co-chair of the Association for Cultural Development of the Chechen and Ingush people “Vainakh” MP Ahmed Muradov and chairman of the Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan MP Roman Kim, Kazakhstan honored writer Akim Tarazi , chairman of Karaganda Oblast Chechen-Ingush ethnic and cultural association “Vainakh” Uvais Dzhanaev, chairman of the Mangistau regional public association “National Accord” Magomed Lorsanov, journalist and cameraman of TV channel “Khabar” Arman Izzhanov and Edil Yermekbayev.

The delegation visited Lyceum № 1 named after First President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Nazarbayev’s House and the eponymous street in Grozny, the grave of the First Chechen President, Hero of Russia Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov in the village of Tsentaroi, Memorial complex “Alley of Fame”. The Kazakhstanis saw an exhibition of works by Chechen artists and craftsmen, made excursions to the towns of Grozny, Gudermes, Argun.

They met with R. Kadyrov, Chechen MPs, public figures, members of the Assembly of Peoples of Chechnya. The KPA delegation took part in nationwide events timed to the Day of Remembrance and mourning by the people of Chechnya, as well as in the TV program “Points of support” at State Television and Radio center “Grozny”.

Chechen partners attached great importance to this visit, emphasized warm feelings of Chechens to Kazakhstan and its people and the nation’s leader Nursultan Nazarbayev.

E. Tugzhanov thanked the leadership of the republic for warm reception and noted that since independence, the head of state has been building internal and external policies of the country on principles of peace and harmony now ensuring peace and order in the multiethnic Kazakhstan.

- The Kazakh and Chechen peoples have much in common. We have long lived and worked side by side. And today we also have useful experience to share, interact, and most importantly to strengthen and expand existing ties, - he said.

The Kazakh delegation in Chechnya signed an agreement on cooperation between KPA and the Assembly of Peoples of Chechnya.

The document provides for exchange of information, organization and methodical guidance to ethno-cultural associations, joint research, conferences and seminars, publication of scientific papers, introduction of advanced scientific and applied research, promotion of joint cultural events and development of targeted educational programs on intercultural dialogue and ethnic education and assistance in establishing links between ethnic complexes and museums for the study of history of the deportation of peoples and victims of political repression, etc.

Earlier similar agreements were signed with the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, Tatarstan as part of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan.

The KPA delegation shared on Kazakhstan’s experience and achievements in intercultural dialogue, activities of the Assembly, presented a model of ethnic tolerance and social harmony authored by Nursultan Nazarbayev.
