02/04/04 - Treacherous Nasvai Or First step towards drug addiction. The substance is still legally sold though it is akin to drugs.
Nasvai dates back to long past when older men used to “help themselves” to this mixture of tobacco, ashes and other ingredients. Now the substance popularity is growing among the younger consumers. The composition of nasvai underwent changes : poisonous substances were added for achieving a “higher” effect . The paradox is that narcologists don’t control the distribution,
it’s outside the range of their activity. Nature of dependence it causes is still
unknown, treatment methods aren’t worked out either.
Experiments showed 3-4 grams of the substance in the stomachs of cats
and dogs leave the animals dead in 10-25 minutes, nasvai rubbed in animals’ skins causes
cancer in most cases. Oncologists say that people consuming nasvai for over ten years run
the risk of having oral malignant tumors.
Mental disorders of children and teenagers apart from acute poisoning
with nasvai became a serious concern for psychiatrists, narcologist.
Slight euphoria lasting about 30 minutes is fraught with serious
hazards, too dear for life. Consuming frequency grows from 2-3 times a week up to 7-10
times a day.
The consequences are dire. The worst thing is school kids chewing
“poisonous gums” during the classes. Doctors say that the poisonous produce is well
launched into consumption. Children ask their parents for money allegedly to buy sweets,
but buy… nasvai instead. To feel “higher” home-craftsmen mix chicken dung, lime,
benabryl, and other poisonous “additives”.
Nasvai isn’t classified as a narcotic drug so its distribution is not
penalized. We hope the situation will change.
Experts say schools, colleges, high schools are main sources of nasvai
distribution.
