Yesterday RK tourism and sport ministry was hosting the 2nd session of the Olympic coordination committee, in which the sport minister Temirhan Dosmuhambetov and Mr. Al-Musalam-Husain, general director of the OCA talked over arrangements for the 7th Asian games-2011 in Astana and Almaty

Kazakhstan has updated on the arrangements, specifically readiness of the athletic facilities, athletes’ and spectators’ accommodation, catering, accreditation, medical backup, safety. As of 30 August, it was stated, 24 countries have applied for participation in the 7th winter Asian games.

As for the facilities’ availability: the skating stadium is roofed already, the cycling track is under completion, equipment is brought to the “Kazakhstan” sport palace and it is being installed, “Medeu” reconstruction is under completion, the B.Sholak sport palace that will be hosting the closing ceremony is 98% ready.

Construction works are completed on the International ski-jumping complex, equipment is being installed in the skiing-biathlon complex in Soldatskoye gorge, works are going on in the “Tabagan” complex, in “Shymbulak”. The alpine skiing tracks passed international certification in 2008.

Test competitions will go on at all the facilities for an international conformity certificate. On RK tourism and sport minister’s decree of 27 July a schedule of competitions was endorsed.

Salutation, opening and awarding ceremonies were talked over at the meeting and passed for endorsement to the OCA, visa acquisition, IT. The IT provider is the SICC company in association with the Swiss Timing.

T.Dosmuhambetov pledged Kazakhstan will duly meet the commitments and the next third meeting of the Coordination committee is scheduled this October.
