RK state secretary and foreign minister Kanat Saudabayev hosted a meeting with the Chinese Communist party’s CC secretary Liu Yunshan to talk over some aspects of bilateral interaction between Astana and Beijing, enhancement of trade-economic and border cooperation. International and regional security and the situation in Kyrgyzstan were the topics brought up too.

Kanat Saudabayev underlined that under the present conditions it was important to pool efforts to support the neighboring republic. It will help sustain economic development and security both in Kyrgyzstan and the region at large.

The RK MFA leader noted a high plane of Kazakhstan-China strategic cooperation, which was reconfirmed by the June talks in Astana between Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Chinese leader Hu Jintao. Importance of dialogue between the political parties and the parliaments was stressed.

In his turn Liu Yunshan talked of the need to collaborate in multi-lateral format, namely within SCO Kazakhstan took over the chairmanship in this June. And in June 2011 Astana will be hosting a jubilee SCO summit, chaired by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Liu Yunshan was appreciative of Kazakhstan’s sociopolitical and socioeconomic development.
