Yesterday President Nursultan Nazarbayev received PM Karim Masimov, the National Bank’s chairman Grigory Marchenko and Kairat Kelimbetov, the board’s chair of FNW “SamrukKazyna” with a report on a restructuring plan for JSC “BTA Bank”.

As the President’s press service informs, the state leader thanked them for the work done and noted stabilization in the banking system due to the right strategy.

Grigory Marchenko marked at the briefing: debts’ restructuring in “Alliance bank” was completed as of 1 April, current year and in “Temirbank” – as of 1 July, 2010.

Thereby three banks completed restructuring and USD 11mn of debts in total was written off. The rest indebtedness was partially restructured into securities and partially converted into these banks’ shares.
