On 1 September the bell was ringing in 7 525 schools of the country heralding a new school year for 2,5 mn kids, including 240 thousand first-graders. The vice-minister of education and science Mahmetgali Sarybekov congratulated the students of the lyceum school No59 and the whole country on the Day of knowledge. Then together they went to the first lesson on the topic “The President’s aim is the people’s happiness and Kazakhstan prosperity”.

Even on such a day we cannot do without statistic. The country has 40 more new modern schools, including two built in Astana.

The lyceum school No 59 that opened its doors only three years ago is already proud of its graduates: all the 74 of them will get a higher education in the home and foreign universities. This news broken at the school rally was good for the youngest learners to hear, as it’s now their turn to grind away at their studies.

Kazakhstan is already a full-fledged member of the Bologna process; it hosted the 1st forum of CIS teachers and is fifth in the 51st International mathematics competition in Astana. Now it’s up to the younger generation of learners to buttress the country’s positions and gains.

The first school bell is a memorable event and is associated with meeting new people, new discoveries. Enjoy your learning, first-graders!
