While our country’s fans are rooting for the “Astana” cycling team at Vuelte-2010 the junior athletes were contesting for medals in the Republic youth championship in Kokshetau.

The contestants are of 1994-1995 y.b., 112 of them representing 16 teams. The first place was won by Astana cyclists, second – athletes of South-Kazakhstan oblast, third – West Kazakhstan team.

Kazakhstan’s cycling sport federation promised 5 cycles to the winners, like the ones the “Astana” team was riding in Grand-tours.

The capital’s athletes are coached by Vera Rive (head coach of the capital’s youth team), Svetlana Kuznetsova and Vladimir Zalevsky.
