In two years the Business school of “Nazarbayev University” starts training managers, financiers, policymakers rating high in Kazakhstan and other countries. According to the director of the academic development department at the “Nazarbayev university” Asylbek Zhanaizarov, from January next year the Business school will be holding short-term trainings in marketing strategy, financial analysis and management for middle and senior managers. And in September 2012 first would-be masters start their training course.

Holders of bachelor degree, preferably with a few years of work experience are admitted to the master course. The bulk of the faculty is American professors, as Kazakhstan is unfortunately short of this-level specialists in business education. Later home specialists with foreign university education might be invited to teach. English is to be the language of instruction, which sets a high bar to the applicants.

One of MBA schools’ principles is motley student audience of different professions, areas and even countries, as many people come to business schools not only for education, but also for business contacts.

Therefore not only Kazakhstan students will be recruited, but from Russia too, particularly West Siberia, and from CA states, - says A.Zhanaizarov. Success of the business school will be gauged by professional achievements of its alumni. In US, for one, these alumni give financial backing to their Alma-mater when they gain a solid foothold in their business, doing well in it. This patronage helps gifted students, who cannot afford the tuition fee.

The Business school’s curricula is to be patterned after the ones in US, the list of subjects to be taught is ample, including global financing and marketing management, corporate finances, business intelligence, global economy and many others.

The students will be taught to conduct business correspondence in a laconic and clear manner, staying on message, to make short and comprehensive reports, to speak before an unfamiliar audience with an unknown text at hand, to work in a team – the latter one in particular.
