The topic covered yesterday at the joint session of the State commission for economic modernization and a single Coordination council for enterprise issues, chaired by PM Karim Masimov was performance of the “Roadmap for business-2020” program, specifically the first 16 projects in its second direction.
As stated by the minister for economic development and trade Zhanar Aitjanova, on the “Roadmap for business-2020” the banks have 517 grant applications the sum of 225,7bn tenge, most of which are from East-Kazakhstan businessmen. Among the second-tier banks “TuranAlem” (245) and “CenterCredit” (170) are leading in the applications. On the program’s second direction – improvement of the business sector – 16bn tenge was allocated out of the initially contemplated 30bn, 33 applications to the second-tier banks the sum of 29bn tenge are under consideration in “Damu”. The chairman of RK financiers’ Association Serik Ahanov believes the ice is broken given so many applications, which points to the businessmen’s interest in the roadmap and the banks’ support to it. All the working procedures are settled for the banks to promptly consider the businessmen’s applications. Out of 16 offered projects, the “Atameken Union” and “Damu” Fund have selected 14 after visiting the regions, 2 were turned down. The selected projects are found to be innovative, realistic and promising. The offers arising in the course of the program “Roadmap for business-2020” were voiced by MEDT minister Zh.Aitjanova at the session. -The west regions’ governors suggest entering gasification on the list of infrastructure types on the first direction of the program. Criteria were also proponed for selection of credits exceeding the sum of 3bn tenge that should be entered on the program. The third proposition is to put viticulture on the list of priority economic sectors, and to use only home-grown grapes in it. A special task group, led by MEDT vice-minister Marat Kusainov will study and generalize the propositions. Rysty Alibekova
