Clear notes of accord
Yesterday the capital’s Congress-hall hosted a big concert with popular Russian singer Joseph Kobzon, timed to Days of spiritual accord. President Nursultan Nazarbayev attended it.
In run-up to the Days a press conference was arranged in Astana. Leader of the Russian delegation, chair of the committee for culture under State duma, people’s artist Joseph Kobzon highly assessed N.Nazarbayev’s contribution to development of Kazakhstan-Russia cultural relations, his policy of spiritual unity.
Days of spiritual accord tradition dates from 1992, when World congress of spiritual accord was first held in Almaty. Later similar meetings were arranged in India and Russia.
The present forum was initiated by Kazakhstan peoples’ Assembly, Committee for religions under RK justice ministry, the capital’s akimat, “Congress of spiritual unity” international public fund under Parliament’s support.
One of the major topics at the conference was the part of media in spiritual culture development. The program of the Days is loaded: scientific conference “Culture against terrorism and extremism”, visits to religious cathedrals (Mosque, Orthodox and Catholic churches, the Synagogue). Charity dinners are to be arranged too.
*** Joseph Kobzon started the concert with the song “Astana”, sang Russian and Ukrainian songs. He conveyed best regards to N.Nazarbayev from mayor of Moscow Yuryi Luzhkov.
The singer recollected the time when doing a regular military service he helped in harvesting in Kostanai oblast, then continued his service in Georgia and sang the song about Tbilisi in Russian and Georgian. He then sang retro songs to the audience’s delight.
President N.Nazarbayev heartily thanked J.Kobzon for the concert, saying his creative work is classical. It is his dream, he added that we all could integrate in the new conditions, never estranging from each other. Spiritual accord is the present-day necessity, - President emphasized.
